Derelict Boat Removal Program
Abandoned and derelict boats are one of the most visible and damaging threats to inland waterways. They leak fuel, rust into the sediment, block navigation, and create hazards for wildlife. Our first goal is to privately fund the legal notification process and physical removal of derelict vessels from our local waterways — one boat at a time.
Navigation Hazards
Sunken or half-submerged hulls create dangerous obstructions for boaters, kayakers, and rescue vessels.
Environmental Damage
Degrading hulls leach fiberglass, heavy metals, fuel, and oils directly into the water column and sediment.
Complex Removal Process
Removal requires legal notification of the owner, a waiting period, marine salvage coordination, and proper disposal — all costly.
